".......we're just playing in a rock 'n roll band".

"Bad Habit" was formed in the mid-70's by Randy Duncan, Gary Elmore, Rick Thompson, Jeff Baize and Scott Greenwell. I auditioned and joined in the fall of 1977 after answering an ad in a local Louisville, KY bargain sale paper called the "Bargain Mart".

After rehearsing in Gary Elmore's basement for a while, we decided to take the plunge and invest in some sound and light equipment...mainly because we wanted to play clubs, weddings, parties, etc. and to do that we had to have the equipment. Our investment included a 1/2 size school bus to haul everything. We had gigs fairly regularly across a 150 - 200 mile radius of Louisville.

We played, I guess what would be called, top 40 rock-n-roll hits from bands including The Rolling Stones, REO Speedwagon, ACDC, Ted Nugent, Kiss, Loverboy, Molly Hatchett, ZZ Top, Kansas, 38 Special, Lynard Skynard, Toto, Rush, Mahogany Rush, Pink Floyd, Cars, ...you name it...if it was a hit, or a good song, we played it. We even had some original tunes. Some of the audio files are from a recording session we had preparing for a contest sponsored by a local radio station in Louisville, WLRS. It was alot of fun and we had a good time...it all seemed like one big party.

Some of the more significant jobs we had were at the Kentucky State Fair, Calumet Lake, Labor Day Jam, C. R.'s Speakeasy and a number of private parties. We entered a band battle at the "Carl Caspers Auto Show" one year and finished 4th out of 64 bands. I think we should've been in the top two (I'm not biased, or anything).

I played guitar with "Bad Habit" for 5, or 6, fun years. During that time we changed drummers 3 times, lead singers once and added a keyboard player named Rubin(not in the picture). We also had a crew that helped set up the equipment, run the sound board, the light panel and provided security. Les Ransom and Rick Thompson (after turning over lead singing duties to David Ramsey) were two of the crew (I will add more names as I remember them).
